AFP Fundraising Day 2008
Fundraising Professional Bursary Program
The AFP Greater Toronto Chapter Fundraising Day 2008 Bursary Program is designed to contribute to the professional development of individuals in the fundraising profession who might otherwise be unable to attend the Day due to financial constraints. The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy-Canada supports this Bursary Program as part of its ongoing commitment to professional development in the field of fundraising.
The Fundraising Day Bursary Committee will offer bursaries to fundraising professionals and volunteers wishing to attend AFP Fundraising Day and/or The Summit. Bursaries are available to both AFP members and non-members. Only one application per organization will be accepted. Exceptions may be made for national organizations, which have one or more regional offices.
Criteria
In order to be considered for a bursary, applicants must:
1) Work or volunteer in a Canadian registered charitable organization with fundraising revenues of $1,000,000 or less (excluding government/United Way funding);
2) Have fundraising as at least 20% of your current position’s mandate;
3) Have not received a bursary from AFP within the past five years; and
4) Can demonstrate financial need on the part of their organization and/or the lack of a professional development budget for their fundraising department.
Application Procedure
Applicants must submit a completed AFP Fundraising Day Bursary Application Form no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2008.
The Fundraising Day 2008 Bursary Committee will review all eligible applications and inform all applicants of its decision by Friday, April 25, 2008.
