Dr. Jon S. Dellandrea

Dr. Dellandrea has made a significant contribution to the evolution of hospital and university philanthropy in Canada during a remarkable career spanning more than two decades.

As Vice-President of Development and External Relations at the University of Toronto and President of the University  of Toronto Crown Foundation, he is developing strategies for the University's upcoming appeal - the largest campaign in Canadian history.

At the University of Toronto from 1975 to 1979, Dr. Dellandrea helped shape the institution's philanthropic culture. He played a key role in the University' Update campaign - raising $36 million against its $25 million goal.

While  at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Dellandra drove the campaign which propelled University of Waterloo into the top ranks of Canadian universities. The campaign brought the University closer to the private sector and increased the effectiveness of its research activities and cooperative training programs.

From 1989 to 1994, Dr. Dellandrea oversaw the Friends for Life capital campaign as president of Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation. The successful completion of the campaign transformed Mount Sinai into one of North America's leading research hospitals endowing the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute.
