2000 Award Recipients

Mr. Ronald J. Fairchild, CFRE

Ronald J. Fairchild has one of the most impressive fundraising track records in Canada of any development consultant. Since 1983, when he began his career as a fun raising consultant, he has successfully directed and supervised campaigns for more than 100 hospitals, colleges, dioceses, parishes and social service organizations. He has played an instrumental role in helping his clients to raise approximately $490 million collectively.

Ron has conducted and supervised campaign, planning-feasibility studies, foundation and organization audits, board forums, strategic planning, and major gift development for his clients. He is also an expert in "Total Development" -guiding non-profit organizations in developing and implementing their overall fund raising plans - and is highly regarded for his creative strategies and tailored approaches.

In addition to his role as President and CEO, Ron Fairchild was a founding partner of Navion, a Canadian fund raising consulting firm founded in 1988. In April 2000, Navion joined with Australian consulting firm Downes, Venn & Associates to form a new international consultancy: DVA Navion. As President of this new firm, Ron will oversee client service and products development.

Ron is a graduate of the University of Windsor. A frequent speaker, trainer and workshop facilitator, he has made presentations to the Ontario Hospital Association, Ottawa Fund Raising Executives Society, National Society of Fund Raising Executives, the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, the Association of St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation, and numerous boards and foundations. A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Ron is widely recognized for his creative approach to the challenge of fund raising in the new millennium.

Mr. Fairchild has been nominated by the Parkwood Hospital Foundation in London Ontario for this year's Outstanding Fund Raising Executive of the Year Award.
