(Nov. 6, 2006) On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Delegate Assembly approved the 2007 slate for the AFP board of directors that will be led by Timothy R. Burcham, CFRE.
Burcham serves as the vice president for advancement for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System in Versailles, Ky. He has been a member of the AFP Kentucky, Bluegrass Chapter for more than 20 years.
“I am both honored and humbled to serve as chair of this great association,” Burcham said. “AFP has played a significant role in my professional life, and I feel like I have a tremendous and unique opportunity now to give something back to the fundraising community.”
Over the last two years, Burcham has served as chair-elect and been leading efforts to develop AFP’s strategic plan for 2007-2010. “A lot of credit must go to Alphonce Brown, our current chair, for the tremendous work he did in creating the 2004-2006 plan,” said Burcham. “That plan has been so effective that we’ve used it as the basis for our new strategic plan.”
Among many other positions, Burcham also has served as secretary and vice-chair of external relations for the association. In addition, he was the founding chair of the AFP Political Action Committee.
