AFP Fundraising Day 2010 - Bursary Program Announced

AFP Fundraising Day is one of the best one-day fundraising conferences in the province.  Fundraising Day offers 15 intensive and stimulating discussion sessions that will provide you with new techniques and thinking to tackle the challenges and opportunities you and your organization face. 

 

The AFP Greater Toronto Chapter recognizes the importance of creating opportunities for all fundraising professionals and volunteers to attend Fundraising Day as a professional development opportunity.  Bursaries are given to individuals who would benefit form the opportunity to learn best practices from respected fundraisers, network with colleagues and develop key professional skills.

 

The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy-Canada supports this Bursary Program as part of its ongoing commitment to professional development in the field of fundraising.

 

Bursaries are available to both AFP members and non-members.  Only one application per organization will be accepted.  Exceptions may be made for national organizations, which have one or more regional offices.

 

Criteria

In order to be considered for a bursary, applicants must: 

 

1)   Currently work or volunteer in a registered Canadian charity with fundraising

      revenues of $1,000,000 or less (excluding government/United Way funding);

2)   Have fundraising as at least 20% of your current position’s mandate;

3)   Have not received a bursary from AFP within the past five years; and

4)   Can demonstrate financial need on the part of their organization and/or the lack of a

      professional development budget for their fundraising department.
